Job Description
The Dock Pilot is responsible for the safe navigation and maneuvering of vessels within the port limits. This recruitment is for a 1-year apprenticeship, followed by a transition into a regular high-pay-scale position.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: * B.Sc. in Nautical Science with a minimum of 60% marks.
- OR candidates holding a 2nd Mate FG (Foreign Going) Certificate.
- Nationality: Citizen of India (Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan also eligible).
- Age Limit (as of 01.02.2026):
- Upper Age Limit: 25 Years.
- Relaxation: 3 years for OBC (NCL). Existing employees of any Major Port Authority in India can apply up to 55 years.
Salary & Training Structure
This position offers a clear career progression with a significant jump in salary post-training.
- During 1-Year Training: A fixed stipend of ₹40,000/- per month (no additional allowances).
- Post-Training (Regular Appointment): Upon successful completion of training and examinations, candidates will be absorbed into the pay scale of ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000/- as a regular Dock Pilot with full PSU benefits.
Selection Process (100 Marks)
The selection is rigorous and consists of three stages:
- Written Test (Part 1 – 40 Marks): Objective MCQs on GK, English, Numerical Ability, and Logical Reasoning (10 marks each).
- Written Test (Part 2 – 50 Marks): Subject-oriented test covering Nautical Science and Marine Operations (Descriptive + MCQs).
- Interview (10 Marks): Personal interaction and technical assessment.
- Negative Marking: 1/4th mark deducted for every wrong MCQ answer.
- Qualifying Mark: Minimum 50% aggregate score required.
