Job Description
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), a premier shipbuilding company functioning under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has announced a large-scale Apprentice Recruitment Drive for 2026. Through this recruitment, a total of 495 Apprentice positions will be filled across multiple trades.
This apprenticeship program provides an excellent opportunity for candidates who have completed 8th Pass, 10th Pass, or ITI qualifications to gain practical industrial training in one of India’s leading shipbuilding organizations. Selected candidates will receive hands-on training from industry experts and gain valuable technical experience that can strengthen their future career prospects.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Group A (10th Pass Candidates)
- Must have passed Class 10 (SSC/Matriculation) from a recognized board.
- Minimum 50% aggregate marks required.
- Mathematics and Science subjects must be included.
- SC/ST candidates require only passing marks.
Group B (ITI Candidates)
- Must possess ITI certification in the relevant trade from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 50% marks required.
- SC/ST candidates need only passing marks.
- Final semester ITI students may also apply subject to eligibility conditions.
Group C (8th Pass Candidates)
- Candidates applying for Rigger and Welder trades must have passed Class 8.
- Science and Mathematics should be part of the curriculum.
- General/OBC candidates require minimum 50% marks.
- SC/ST candidates need only pass marks.

Job Responsibilities
Selected apprentices will be responsible for:
- Participating in technical and practical training sessions.
- Learning trade-specific industrial operations.
- Following safety procedures and workplace regulations.
- Assisting supervisors in day-to-day workshop activities.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Completing apprenticeship assignments and assessments.
- Working collaboratively with team members and trainers.

Salary Details

Selection Process

2. Document Verification
Candidates shortlisted based on CBT performance will be called for document verification.
