Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in ICU and critical care settings.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygen levels, ventilators, and infusion pumps.
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed.
- Respond promptly to life-threatening situations like cardiac arrest or respiratory failure.
- Assist in intubation, extubation, suctioning, and other ICU procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of patient conditions, medications, and treatments.
- Ensure strict infection control practices and maintain a sterile environment.
- Collaborate with doctors, anesthetists, and specialists for patient management.
- Record nursing notes, progress reports, and treatment charts.
- Operate and maintain ICU equipment (ventilators, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, syringe pumps, dialysis machines).
- Educate and support patient families regarding ICU protocols.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families.
- Participate in ICU rounds and interdisciplinary discussions.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior nurses and nursing students.
Eligibility & Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing or GNM) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council.
- Prior experience in ICU, emergency, or critical care nursing preferred.
- Ability to work in shifts, maintain high attention to detail, and handle stressful situations calmly.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in critical care nursing, ICU procedures, and patient monitoring.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple patients and maintain accurate documentation.
