Job Description

Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has invited applications for 140 Apprentice positions under its Skill Building Initiative. Selected candidates will undergo one year of apprenticeship training in their respective trades.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must fulfill the following educational requirements:

  • Must have passed ITI in the relevant trade.
  • Minimum 40% marks in the ITI examination.
  • Candidate must be registered on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) Portal.
  • Candidates can apply for only one trade and under either West Bengal or Jharkhand, not both.

Age Limit

Selection Process

The recruitment process is completely merit-based.

Step 1: Merit List

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on ITI examination marks.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates secure equal marks:

  1. Candidate who passed ITI earlier will be preferred.
  2. If the passing year is the same, the older candidate will be given preference.
  3. If still tied, the candidate who registered earlier on the NAPS Portal will be considered first.

Step 2: Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original documents.

Step 3: Joining

Candidates who successfully complete document verification will receive the apprenticeship joining letter.
