Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Record: A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in the relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- Mandatory Requirements: * Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
- Exemption: Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
- Age Limit (as of 01.01.2026):
- Maximum: 40 years.
- Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy), and 10 years for PwD candidates.
- Special relaxation for SACT (State Aided College Teachers) up to 47 years.
Selection Methodology
The Commission uses a weighted performance criteria system. The final merit panel is prepared based on:
- Academic Records: Scores from Graduation, Post-Graduation, and Ph.D.
- Research & Publications: Points for papers published in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Teaching Experience: Post-doctoral or teaching experience.
- Interview: Performance in the personal interview/demonstration.
