Job Summary

The ideal candidate must have practical and technical knowledge in structural steel fabrication, CAD design/drafting, workshop supervision, and site erection work.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Planning

• Interpret structural drawings, blueprints & fabrication specifications
• Prepare AutoCAD/SolidWorks fabrication drawings
• Optimize fabrication design for cost, safety & ease of fabrication

Fabrication Oversight

• Lead workshop fabrication activities
• Prepare cutting lists, welding plans, assembly drawings
• Supervise welding, fit-up, grinding & assembly
• Coordinate material procurement and planning

Project Execution & Site Management

• Manage site erection & installation of steel structures
• Resolve real-time fabrication issues
• Conduct inspections & ensure safety compliance

Team Leadership

• Lead fabricators, welders, riggers & fitters
• Train junior engineers & supervisors

Quality Control & Documentation

• Ensure dimensional accuracy & welding quality
• Maintain fabrication logs, material traceability & inspection reports
• Prepare ITPs, method statements & material submittals

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication
• Expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Tekla (optional)
• Hands-on fabrication & welding supervision
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, SMAW processes
• Familiarity with IS, AWS, BS fabrication standards

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Fabrication / Structural Engineering
• 10+ years fabrication experience (mandatory)
• CSWIP or equivalent welding inspector certification preferred
